Roman Koziel was born in 1988 in Fullerton, California, and currently resides in Warsaw, Poland, where he works as a documentary photographer and freelance photojournalist. His work focuses on topics related to ecology, human rights issues, and radical social movements in Central Europe.
He is interested in exploring the intersections between documentation, art, and activism. Of particular concern for him is examining photography’s potential as a medium of communication that inspires society to question and resist unjust power structures. He is a 2022 graduate of the Sputnik Photos Mentorship Programme.
